ok so the blog has been as bare as a brazilian sunbaking on a fifth day perth wicket recently… havent had much to report of late (and by the looks of most of my fellow coffee and bullshit bloggers im not the only one)…. mind you i have been dining out alot in recent times… and while i am not a food critic (contrary to a popular belief held by some) i think if you visit a place 5 times in a month (yes i am now the newly crowned mayor of cumulus) you can make a couple of small observations and recommendations… i have been here thrice for brekky and and twice for lunch…
breakfast wise- a definate highlight is the bircher with grated granny smith apple…

a favourite amongst those in my line of work… a very stripped back, back to basics rendition and quite possibly my favourite in melbourne… and while i only had a small taste… the famous 65/65 egg is sensational… so creamy and rich and if i liked smoked salmon i would be as an unattainable mayor here as steve is at the casino…
a la carte wise you cannot go past…
the slow cooked octopus with aioli… not only my favourite entree but visually my favourite dish…

crispy school prawns with chilli and garlic… i think i have found my new ultimate drunk food… would love to watch the footy with a few beers and some of these succulant little bastards…

they also offer a rather extensive selection of cured meats which tickles my fancy much more than the selection of oysters… the wagyu bresaola with horseradish is intimidatingly good… so good in fact we only got a photo in time before i snagged the last piece…

the cracked wheat salad…

the crumbed pigs tail with snails and watercress… along with the octopus and the prawns the best thing here… you could tell that this wasnt good for you but i just wanted more and more…

seriously good nosh and given recent service issues ive had at longrain the last two times ive been there (ha lets face it they’ve always been fairly full of themselves), cumulus is probably my favourite fare in melbourne…
